Last minute photo of Ben Lomond from up the road. Its been a day of switching from gardeniong mode to books because tomorrow we leave for Hay Festival.

Waht to wear?is it going to be a soggy Hay- wellies and woolies or a heatwave? according to the weather forecast we are going to get both over the course of the next week.


Meanwhile I hear Bridge of Allan Open Gardens raised nearly £1,800 for charities yesterday afternoon , of which £500 came from the plant stall alone.

At these events people make a beeline for the plants because (a) they know they are locally grown and therefore hardy and (b) you get a chance of buying not only plants at a very reasonable price but also some unusual ones too.
