and all the trimmings

A winter walk to Beningbrough Hall on a damp day, we seem to have been here quite a lot lately but today was a very special mission- to collect Mum's pork pie and black pudding order! A bit less accessible than usual due to the bridge shenanigans we walked a good mile to the drive to Beningbrough Hall. Part way down the drive a large, deep and muddy over spill of river blocked our path. What to do? We've come this far and a homemade pork pie order is at stake! We did the only sensible thing to do, and with joyful abound we sprung* over the electric fence and sloshed our way skirting around some soggy, muddy fields to the farm shop. Wellies would have been a good idea*. We succeeded in our mission and with pork pie in hand, reversed our journey. Once safely back at Mum's with socks changed and shoes stuffed with newspaper, we set off to spend Christmas with the Manchester side of the family.
