What's the best thing about Christmas?

This Christmas Eve we asked our 3 year old niece what the best thing about Christmas is, she replied 'it's really exciting!'. This is Eleanor doing her very best to wait until the end of the Christingle Service to eat the jellytots!

We fought to stay awake until 9pm the previous evening, slept well but spent the day wrapping Christmas presents and unpacking, leaving just enough time for an all important mulled wine before the church service. There we watched a nativity play by a group of young children traditionally adorned with tea-towels on their heads. One sheppard had gone to town with his costume, with a confident addition of a biro beard. Very effective!

Later on that evening, when we were leaving out a mince pie for Father Christmas, a carrot for Rudolf and some grapes Eleanor announced that Father Christmas would like a strawberry milkshake but we hadn't quite factored that in so he had to make do with a glass of milk. He also had a whiskey, I saw him do it.
