The Old Forge (Sunday 26th May 2019)

The garden is changing quite quickly at this time of year. I always look forward to seeing and blipping these irises reappearing by the pond each year. A few days ago there was no sign of the buds, but suddenly they have begun to bloom, and a couple of weeks earlier than in previous years too. Some things are earlier, some later this year.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Desperate Journalist - Hollow (2016)
Jo Bevan (vocals), Rob Hardy (guitar), Simon Drowner (bass) and Caroline Helbert (drums)
There was quite a lot to pick from this day's radio, but I've settled on this London band formed in 2012 that I hadn't heard before. Tom Robinson played them on his Now Playing show around the theme of Goths. Their singer reminded me a little of Julianne Regan from All About Eve, who also strayed into goth territory from time to time.
This single was released in October 2016 and then appeared on their second album, Grow Up (2017). The band's name derives from The Cure rarity, Desperate Journalist In Ongoing Meaningful Review Situation.
