USS Constitution

Sunday, when we arrived in Boston, 30c and humid. Yesterday 21c and brilliant. Today 10c and pouring most of the day. What a change!

We took the ferry from Long Wharf back to Charlestown to visit the USS Constitution and the USS Cassin Young (a Second World War destroyer). Both very good but not at their best in the wet.

From there a walk in the rain to downtown Boston and the Boston Public Market for a browse and some chowder for lunch. We finished off the afternoon with a visit to Fainuil Hall and Quincy Market and the somber Holocaust memorial which we’d somehow missed yesterday.

After drying out and happy hour at the hotel we ubered down to the Legal Seafood restaurant on the Harbourside for dinner. Very good, enjoyed a couple of oysters but the chips could have been better. Still raining when we came out.
