Linlithgow Loch Heron

After some shopping this morning we headed for Linlithgow Loch to see if any grebe chicks were about. No luck with the grebes but there were cygnets and ducklings aplenty. However I favoured this study of a heron.
Today's extra is of a tiny fraction of the gazillions of Mayflies which had obviously just emerged. The swallows were making the most of this feast and were swooping all over the water hoovering up the little flies.
