Boudica. A one woman monologue.

On Tuesday evening we went with a friend to an event at Lichfield Cathedral.
It was a one woman monologue on the, little known, life of Boudica, or Boadicea as we most commonly know her.
The lady doing the presentation was a superb historian and had done a lot of research. She admitted there is not an awful amount documented but fleshed our the bare bones and filled in the blanks with descriptions of the times in which this fearsome queen had lived.
She dressed as the persona in cloth which had been woven as it would have been at the time, with authentic jewellery and her face and arms painted with woad, which had been specially prepared.
It was a riveting performance.
She also performs as Elizabeth the First.
The cathedral was pretty well filled.
