Rain!

At last, after two weeks the rain came. The nor’wester roared through the night, hurling leaves and dumping  16mm of rain. The photo shows the black rainwater bin filled to the top, and leaves the wind put there. The miniature rock pool once again captured a maple leaf, and this time a seed as well. See extra shot.

Overnight the nor’wester has changed its tune. It sounds strange. There are a lot of poplars around here. In summer when the leaves are on the trees the nor’wester sounds like waves on a shingle beach. Now the trees are bare the wind roars like big waves in a storm. One consistent thing about the nor’wester is that it comes in waves.
