Between fen and mountains

Catching up

I finally caught up with my work backlog so I was able to get out and do some digging in the garden before setting off for a meeting at Citizens Advice. This clock was a pleasure to work on with a simple but very robust mechanism that is already about 100 years old.  There is no built in obsolescence and no batteries to throw away and pollute the environment. Citizens Advice is under stress now as the County council funding source has been cut by 70%.  Other sources have been cut too. Referral agencies themselves are losing funding as well which means more people are sent in our direction.  When I returned C. came round for probably his last cup of tea before the move on Monday.  It will be forty minute journey after that for a cuppa and a chat.
