Meldon Viaduct

We were off to Okehampton this morning to walk a route that I will be leading in a few days time for our local walking group.  The weather held out and we had some good views from the edge of Dartmoor before heading towards Red a Ven Brook and the West Okemont River with the Meldon Viaduct in the distance.  We approached the viaduct from the old quarry where this shot was taken.  It was then a stroll under the viaduct and back to Okehampton via the West Devon Way.  Glimpses of the castle were still visible despite the trees now being in full leaf. We then returned via Simmons Park and a steep climb back to the station for tea and cake.  Fingers crossed that the weather is good next week.
