West End Pond

Last night we thoroughly enjoyed the Michael Bublé concert. While I enjoy his music, I am not such a die hard fan that I would have been upset not to get tickets to this, but as it was a lovely present from Luke we were more than happy to go. Well...what a show! He must rate as one of the most entertaining singers, he interacts with his audience all the time, tells anecdotes about his life, poses happily for selfies while he is singing...in fact one person in the audience was busy Face Timing her friend so her friend could see the concert, and when Michael saw this he took the phone, said hello to the friend on the phone, and then sang to her holding the phone up! His orchestra were superb, wow the trumpeters were incredible. He made a joke that Ed Sheeran said it would be so much easier for him if he just had a guitar like Ed does, but he said then he could not get that powerful sound he needs for numbers like...and he launched into Cry Me A River. It was a fabulous show, well worth seeing.

Today I had my usual pre-weekend grocery shopping to do, a few errands to run, but I stopped off at West End Pond to see if the pond weed had cleared up as last time I was there it was green and fully covered by it. It has cleared up and instead there were some lovely water lilies, as can be seen here.

Still buzzing from last night's show, tonight we are going to see the musical Hamilton. Not planned to have two such wonderful outings in a row, Luke booked last night's show unbeknown to us, and I booked tonight as a half term treat and break from exam revision for Thomas. But he feels he cannot take the time off so sadly he is not coming and a friend is taking his place instead. I am looking forward to it and hope it is as good as all the hype around it says it is.
