A New Day

Water World

We discovered this morning what people had meant when they said it had been raining non-stop for a week! Many of the roads in our area were flooded, including this one to Blairgowrie, and the fields were awash as the rivers overflowed.

We had a long detour to collect Simba from the cattery, but he was delighted to see us and yowled all the way home. He was fine and had been eating well, according to the cattery owner, although he seemed a bit slimmer to us. His coat was really soft and silky, which must be the result of being kept indoors for so long. He wandered from room to room around the house and soon remembered where he was, so settled down happily, much to our relief.

We went out again later to look for a Christmas tree, as I do prefer a real one and had an even longer detour round flooded areas to our usual supplier. He only had three Nordmans to choose from and the one I liked best had lost its top spike, so we came home with a "topless" tree! However, it looks fine with a little angel perched there and it's a lovely shape.

Made a start on the washing, although it may take some time!!
