Vibrant ...

Crazy weather. This morning we could have done with the old gopher wood; this afternoon we found ourselves in warm sunshine; this evening it's blowing up a hoolie and it's rained again. And it's June.

But at least the rain and sun combined have produced some stunning colours. Here, the oddly delicate rhododendron blooms are backed by the Massan Burn running full and noisily again, and beyond on the far bank the grass is almost terrifying in its vigour and green-ness. Even the baby trees in the background look as if they've grown in a week ...

Now all we need is for our trusty roofer to attend to the Rectory roof, which would seem to be leaking. Again. I recall when we bought the house we've lived in for such a long time - we used to listen for the drips falling in the loft which we had such difficulty accessing. They made a startling noise because, as we later discovered, some bright spark had abandoned a length of roof ridging balanced across the joists. This meant the water came through the ceiling a couple of feet or more from the leak ...

But today the sun shone for a bit. I'm talking to myself here ...
