Red Chestnut

When CanCarrier blipped a Red Horse Chestnut  (Aesculus  x carnea) I was reminded that, although they are not common, I also had seen one recently.
This is another, which caught my eye as we arrived for our bi-monthly Keep-in-touch meeting. It provides the backdrop to St Catherine's Well (also known as the Oily well or Balm Well), among other mature trees. The pretty pink and yellow blooms were popular today with bumblebees.
