London Bridge...

...thankfully the miserable weather of this afternoon has stopped for a while to get some fresh air in to blow the cobwebs away and get a blip done after a great Christmas Day, I hope that all your celebrations were equally as fun and thanks again to all for getting yesterdays effort onto the spotlight page.

So this is London Bridge and apparently even the Orange bridges on the Thames have neon blue underneath. In 1967, the City of London placed the previous bridge on the market for sale. On 18 April 1968, the bridge was sold to an American, Missourian entrepreneur Robert P. McCulloch for US$2,460,000. The claim that McCulloch believed mistakenly that he was buying Tower Bridge has been denied but then what else would they say.

As the bridge was taken apart, each piece was meticulously numbered. The blocks were then shipped overseas through the Panama Canal to California and trucked from Long Beach to Arizona and reconstructed in Lake Havasu City, Arizona the bridge now spans the Bridgewater Channel canal. (maybe I should go and blip it)

I decided to blip London Bridge today because I am going to take a bit of a break from London bridges for the next few days, all very exciting!! not really but if you want to know more you will just have to tune in the same time tomorrow.

You will also see that I spared you a St Paul's background today, I do have a capture with it in from the southbank, but instead you get Southwark Cathedral as a background, so many cathedrals.

Hope that all your hangovers are now in a manageable state or at least nearly!!
