Going Back

Not looking after Kitty today so she went home last night after her dance lesson.

Mr P and l went with Rebecca and Tim to the funeral of J, an old friend and neighbour from when we lived in Leeds,

Strange, there are not many occasions when it’s just the four of us. l can’t even remember the last time that happened.

J had been such a sharp and quick witted man, so there was a lot of humour in the service and it was as they say, ‘a good send off‘.

Saw lots of old neighbours, we were a close knit community and most of them still living in the same old street.
It was good to see them again.

The saddest part of the day was seeing his wife, my dear friend M who has Dementia looking fragile and confused.
J had been her carer, enabling her to stay in her own home.
Her two sons live nearby thankfully but l’m not sure what the future holds for her.
J and M were a bit older than us and their love, help and friendship were invaluable to me when l was a young mother with a new baby and little boy.
My mother had just passed away and Mr P was working. abroad.
Seems like yesterday but when l counted back it was 45 years ago.
