50 Shades of Light

Laurie got us a light box, both for the children to make discoveries and for me to play with photos. I've shot a number of objects and am having fun being artsy-fartsy. I can't figure out why there's a strong bluish tint to the background though (mostly removed here via processing). Any thoughts?

This cactus has been blooming since October. It's looking a little tired right now but I think it still has some life in it.
