Violet Birdsnest Orchid

This is a first for me, and at half a metre high, it is certainly the biggest wild orchid I have ever seen. See extra for a better idea of its size.

The days are passing so quickly and we have major, and time consuming, projects on the go in the garden which I would like to finish before I leave for South Africa in 10 days time. Apologies for my minimal commenting, I seem to be lacking a bit of oumph at the end of the day!
