Heraldry in action

This shield bug certainly looks colourful enough to be sporting some form of heraldic device.

It was very obviously aware of me, and despite my best patient efforts, I wasn't able to get to a position where I could show the wee beastie any more clearly than this.  I'm not Scots so I'm not quite sure where that last expression came from ... possibly something to do with the planning that is currently taking place for the road trip North of the border that Incredibish and I will be taking on in just over a week's time ...
