Miners Memorial

Last year a sculpture of a coal miner was unveiled at St. Martins neat Oswestry. It's to commemorate 50 years since Ifton Pit in the village closed.  It was made by artist George Triggs and stands in the miner's memorial Garden.Money was raised by the community to pay for it.  It's a beautiful piece of work and a reminder of the mining history of the village.
