Long Ago

It has been another strange day.

Anyway. We all have them from time to time. It passes.

All that aside, the main thing has been enjoying Junior buzzing about the house again to get his bags packed for his flight tomorrow. He asked me to help him plan a bit of tomorrow’s trip which was nice.

He has to get himself by train from Newark Airport to Penn Station, and from there he is “taken care of” as the camp has given him an Amtrak ticket for a train to Albany. They will pick him up there.

We just had to research how he gets to Penn Station by looking at the airport website. It looks simple enough, but just checking into the detail and talking it through will make it easier once he gets there. Sometimes it’s just little things make a difference like knowing where to buy the train ticket, how much it should cost and remembering to get some local currency before the flight in case the machine does not like his my credit card.

It has been fun to see the mixture of excitement and nervousness he is feeling.

More memories trawled up, of course. I have never been to Albany either. In a sense that’s good. The New York State Court of Appeals is located there. Had I screwed up one of my cases in the lower court (Supreme Court, Appellate Division) that’s where it would have gone.

So long ago.
