Lindisfarne

The weather was set fair so we decided to visit Lindisfarne.  Beautiful.  We drove over the causeway onto the island, parked, and then walked to the Castle and then the garden designed by Gertrude Jekyll (see extras).  The Castle had been undergoing repairs for several years and only opened again to visitors last year.  Well worth a visit.

Lunch at the Ship Inn (delicious crab salad) and then a walk to the Priory.  Delicious ice-cream too.

Back to Alnwick via the Coast Road.
