Getting the sparkle back

Meconopsis - and a fine pheasant

AKA Himalayan Blue Poppy, although it's not a poppy. This has to be one of my favourite flowers. I saw it at Dawyck Botanic Garden with GS, where we had lunch before our walk (which got a bit curtailed by yet another downpour), and then tea and delicious pineapple and mango upside down cake afterwards. Everything was looking splendidly green and luxuriant, so that was maybe some consolation for all the rain we've been having.

The extra photo is of a very fine male pheasant who obligingly came quite close. There was also a female pheasant with him, although she had a lame leg, so we were concerned for her. Pheasants can't escape predators well at the best of times, let alone when they are disabled.
