A trip to Bendigo

Why go to Bendigo to see an exhibition of Royal portraits - Tudors to Windsors?

Well, quite frankly, because it was2.5 hours drive away from Geelong.
So, we achieved about 5.5 hours in the Learners record book bringing us to a total of 85 hours 45mins. The required total of 120 hours is beginning to look achievable by mid August.

The early Winter colours around Bendigo and Dalesford were red and golden, lending a particular beauty to both the front gardens of tiny miners cottages and the grand gold miners mansions.

We had a good laugh getting to Bendigo, including reading out reviews of potential lunch destinations in silly voices.

Tomorrow is the 3rd anniversary of David's death, so it was good to spend this holiday Monday together.
After lunch, we bizarrely bumped into one of the hospital chaplains who had been so helpful to David, and that sobered us all up for a while. But with young folk, you just need to go with the flow - through happy and sad times.
