Drifting on Still Water

But now they drift on the still water,
Mysterious, beautiful;
Among what rushes will they build,
By what lake's edge or pool
Delight men's eyes when I awake some day
To find they have flown away?

~ William Butler Yeats ~

After just over 2 hours sleep, by 7pm I was struggling. In an effort to stay awake and to keep grumpiness at bay, I walked lochside whilst my daughter was coaching hockey.
The midges were awful as a result of the calm conditions and warm temperatures.
The birds on the loch carried on regardless.
Suddenly realised that I have yet to see any ospreys over the loch this year; a reflection of my need to get out more.
