The Sweet Columbine

Dear Diary,

Some flowers are extroverts, like the peony, and some are introverts, like the shy Columbine.  She hides in shady places and sometimes under branches of bushes, like this one.  I had to go searching for her and was delighted when I found her.  Such a beauty.

Peony Update:  The rain yesterday was torrential and then the wind came and a feared my tree peony was doomed but this morning I was surprise to see my beauty had survived intact!  A small miracle I would say. The 8-9 inch blooms had not dropped a single petal.  (extra)
