Weir'd

Family gathering-together day today as Chrissy and John brought A over late this morning in time for a large semi-conventional Christmas lunch.

After lunch we had a walk in the dusk at Byron's pool. The water level looked high but we didn't appreciate quite how high until we saw that the substantial weir was practically submerged!

Going by the mud and debris on the path the level had clearly been even higher.

This a shot of the calmer side of the weir - the red isn't sunset, it's Cambridge.

Back home we played Apples to Apples, had a substantial tea with freshly baked white and brown loaves (we brought ourselves a breadmaker for Christmas - it's been very busy) then Chrissy and John headed back south.
