Killing me softly with his song..........

Turned up this morning to do my volunteering stint, with Keith, and he was telling me about a new male visitor who had been coming in the last few weeks. We offer all our visitors a free cup of tea, or coffee and a biscuit, all of which are brought in by the volunteers, but this gentleman called David, has been having about six or more cups, and helping himself. We have now had to put a notice on the table to say that if you want more than two cups there will be a 50p charge. David the man in question, arrived before we were even ready, and wanted a cup before the kettle had boiled. We were drinking said cuppa when the new lady vicar called in to see what we were all about, and she asked him to play us a tune. That was a big mistake, as he didn't know when to stop and carried on playing about three songs. He wasn't even that good and was out of tune for most of it, but we clapped when he eventually finished, more out of relief than appreciation. He left after about an hour, on his way to town to do some busking. He is originally from Lancashire, but lived in a tent in Cornwall for twelve years, and now resides in Bridgend, and says  he will stay in the area until his dying day. When he left the vicar called Maggie said he's a colourful character, which summed him up very well.  Ah well, that;s what Open Church is all about, never a dull moment for sure.
