Life through the lens...

Foraging for “ Samfer”.

Last stop on our way home was Brancaster Staithe for a cab baguette from Letzer’s Crab Hut. ( the one that was closed lastTursday as they got flooded out)
The crab is caught by Simon Letzer who fishes out of the Staithe, and they are the best crab sandwiches I have ever tasted.

I also went foraging along the creek for
“ Samfer” as they call it in Norfolk.
Samphire to everyone else. A little early, but I found some, and as you can see there were some very tiny crabs too.
All dead. Washed up by the high tides, along with other debris. Can you see a very unhappy face?
We will be having it with a crab bought from The Hut, along with Norfolk new potatoes, and strawberries, bought from a stall at the road side.
A match made in heaven!

It was sunny and 20C when we left Norfolk.
Now home to 13C and pouring down.
First thing we did was put the heating on!

A couple of extras.
The boats at Brancaster Staithe and the ladies playing netball in the market place in Aylsham.
