Life through the lens...

Marseillan.

Now staying in Marseillan, the little town on the Etang de Thau.
The bay always represented a secure area.
The port took shape through the first centuries of the Christian Era.
In 1600 the port was extended and thus became “ Port de Marseillan “.
In 1813, Noilly Prat established it’s first cellar here.
Also the Canal du Midi a UNESCO World Heritage site, ends at the Etang de Thau, which is full of oyster beds.

We are just back from a wonderful evening meal at Restaurant Chez Philippe. Sat outside in the garden.
Beautifully presented food, friendly and efficient service. Love the background smooth jazz music.
Three courses with a bottle of wine and coffee for only 54euros. This is one of the reasons we love France so much, and keep coming back year, after year.
Just don’t get this back in England, even if you pay a lot more.

Looking forward to tomorrow afternoon, and picking up a special someone from Bezier airport!
Hope this good weather lasts.

A couple of extras. One of the flower displays as it is Flower Friday, and one of a car we spotted parked outside the Yatch Club, where they were having “ A bit of a Do”.

Many thanks for all your kind comments, stars and hearts, which are much appreciated.
I haven’t time for comments, but are managing to give hearts and stars.
