A Maze Of Blue Waterways And Fountains

We started the day with a 20 minute walk to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and Majorelle Garden. YSL owned the garden that was originally created in the 1920s & 30s and designed by the French painter Jacques Majorelle. The museum was interesting and housed prototypes of much of his designs over the decades, some of which were the style that I have vivid memories of my Mum wearing in the 1970s).

The garden was an amazing collection of cacti, bamboo and succulents, all surrounding a cobalt blue studio (now a Berber museum) with a maze of blue waterways and fountains.

After a leisurely afternoon in the hotel, we went to a local restaurant, a short walk but a terrifying one as we had to cross the Moroccan roads...not for the feint hearted and I found the key was to stick close to a local and cross when they do...it’s a policy very successful in fish...safety in numbers!
