Happy Families

For the first time I hit the wall this morning and after breakfast we decided to stay at the Inn for the morning and not drive until later in the day when the animals are out and about more.  We walked over to Snow Lodge and did our laundry and went to the visitor center.  The lovely daughter went for a walk in the thermal area and met a man her dad's age and had a good chat about father's and daughters.  He had his honeymoon here 40 years ago.
We had an early dinner where we met a woman who drives from Iowa two or three times a year to hike the trails.  Her husband gets bored after a day so she comes on her own.  The plan was to drive towards Madison.  It wasn't long before we pulled over and saw our first Black Bear.  It was walking parallel to the road in and out of the trees.  I did get a picture and it is a bear but my 200 ml lens just isn't enough.  At the Nez Perce creek we were amazed to see a big herd of Bison grazing.  They walked towards another bend in the creek and crossed over.  There were fishermen who just kept on fishing.  We thought the calves were too cute for words.
