What's the magic word?

More!

Parenting is hard work at times though, in fairness, these two juveniles were making a pretty good job of finding their own food each time Poppa Bird flew off. And when he did, an adult male chaffinch seemed to hang around as if giving them moral support in loco parentis. (See Extra.) I realise this is anthropomorphising, but it did make me wonder. Perhaps if the juveniles become accustomed to chaffinches feeding alongside, then they'll be less likely to chase them off in adulthood? Who knows?

Thanks for all the kind comments on my yesterblip - I had a feeling a fair few blippers and their patient partners would identify with the situation!
