What is photography?

With cameras, including cell phones, so ubiquitous, you may wonder what photography is about nowadays.

BHphotovideo.com has embarked on a project -- appropriately called What is Photography? -- to elicit answers from artists, editors, curators, theorists and technicians.  At its heart, according to the site, this is a portrait project: "it's not only about photography, it is photography."
