Alpaca Walking

The forecast dire weather didn't materialise, so we went ahead with the planned alpaca walking. We were each allocated our own alpaca and before we could set off we were given strict guidelines on how to lead our beasts. We were shown how to hold the lead, and always to walk on the left side. Tempting though it was, we couldn't stroke the alpacas anywhere except on their necks. Their wool is exceedingly soft. We walked for a mile through fields and woodland, then we were introduced to a field of pregnant Mum's and babies. Adorable, but we couldn't touch them! We loved the alpacas, with their huge expressive eyes and their gentle nature. Thank you J and M for a brilliant Christmas present.
