Getting a Handle on Things

This afternoon I was at Waddesdon Manor to do some photography for the Marketing Department,  They needed some images to promote the object handling within the House which helps visitors appreciate the damage that touching can do to objects; here, the main aim is to allow people to actually feel some of the fabrics and substances in the collection. A knowledgeable Guide is on hand to give information.  The blip is a flat iron with a copper pan behind,  'Models' are from the staff in Marketing.

Next it was outside with more staff as models - or rather the grandmother and young son of a staff member.  Waddesdon is introducing an Explorers Pack - a backpack containing various items to help children learn about science and nature together with a map of the garden area. The idea is for youngsters to smell, touch and feel as well as observe. It is well done and I hope it will be very successful.  Now they have lots of photos Marketing can get busy!

Hoping for fine weather tomorrow for granddaughter Sophie's school sports day - this was postponed from last week as the weather was so bad - would have been fine for a swimming gala!
