Everyday I Write The Book

I always think it’s a sign of a well balanced person when they get happy and excited about the smaller things in life. The Dizzle got a great buzz out of this loaf. I get it; big, tasty, good to look at.

I had another day of Skype conferences and doing deadline detailed stuff. After two days of this I have cabin fever. But did finish Oryx and Crake this evening; god that’s a good but scary book. Can’t believe no-one has filmed it or made it in to a mini series. Maybe that’s for the best; it was written in 2003 to depict a dystopian future where only the elite (living in their gated communities) are safe from the mutations that science has bred - but the world as a whole just has sex, watches television, and searches the internet for thrills. Until the day it all goes horribly wrong in a world that is overpopulated and incapable of making sensible decisions about the future. Sound familiar? Margaret Atwood and her scarily predictive text ... putting it on Netflix would probably be too ironic...

Might need something lighter before the next book in the trilogy. And I really need to get out more ...
