A Slice of Light

A dying Coprosma leaf in deep shade is partly backlit by a narrow shaft of sunlight. This is the upper surface of the leaf, even though it looks like the underneath.

Today was brilliant. A 6.30 am the outdoor temperature was already warmer than daytime temps over the last few days. The sky was cloudless and pale blue. I made a quick trip to Christchurch and was home for lunch. My son was sawing and stacking firewood when I got home. I didn’t have to do any at all.
