War memorial, Leatherhead

I’ve lived in the area for many years, but have never really looked at the War Memorial in Leatherhead. It is quite impressive. Apparently there was a disproportionate number of casualties in Leatherhead in the First World War. This photo is just one end of the memorial. It was unveiled with great ceremony in front of a large crowd in 1921.
