Bicycles and bridges....

A wonderful day in and around Amsterdam! Glorious sunshine too!

We began with a tour round all the quarters of the city with an excellent guide. We really needed three heads and sets of eyes to turn to see all she was pointing out to us!

A cruise on the River Amstel gave us different views, and also some tricky negotiation through canals and under bridges for the captain. Lunch watching the pedestrian ferries constantly loading and unloading passengers, before taking ourselves on a walk along the roads on each side of the canals. Wonderful!

An evening meal in a Bistro adjacent to our hotel and we are “home” again at the end of a great day. Again, I comment on the difference an hour ahead makes at this time of year....it was still light at 10.45pm!

Another day of sights and sunshine to look forward to tomorrow.
