Just Me

Roger

This barge is called 'Roger'.
'Roger' is an Historical Working Boat built in 1936 for an Aylesbury coal and canal carrier. It is now included in the National Register of Historic Vessels.
It is one of the last totally wooden canal boats left in working order.
It was also the last wooden motor boat to actually trade on the canal.

An interesting fact: Of about 100,000 wooden canal boats built over 200 years or so, less than 40 still exist today in any form.

It is open (free of charge) to anybody that wants to have a look inside and get a glimpse of what life is like living on the canal. Quite amazing inside as is the engine compartment.

A really quick blip today after a challenging night.

Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.
Clive
