Who do we have here?

Dear Diary,

I went out to photograph one of the last bearded iris in the studio garden which was looking especially lovely in the sun.  When I got it up on the computer I saw a little bug.  When I enlarged it I was puzzled.  This is a new one for me.  It didn't even look as if it had the right number of legs.  The tail had a resemblance to a lightning bug but it wasn't one.  I went out with a magnifying glass to look more closely but he had gone.  I did search on the internet but found nothing that looked like it so it is a mystery.  Much of nature is a mystery really but this little bug stopped for awhile to admire my iris and so did I.  He moved on and so will I.
