The Lozarithm Lens

Calne (Monday 24th June 2019)

When I emerged from the posh houses on the Green on Sunday I came across this watering can in a front garden. I photographed it but the light was going and it was starting to rain, so I made a mental note and popped back the next day to bag a much better shot.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Howlin' Wolf - Who's Been Talkin' (recorded 24 June 1957, Chess Studios, Chicago IL, for Chess)
Howlin' Wolf (vcl, har) with Adolph Billy Duncan (ten sax), Hosea Lee Kennard (pno), Willie Johnson (gtr), Otis "Smokey" Smothers (gtr), Alfred Elkins (bass), Earl Phillips (dr)
Recorded on this day in 1957 this first appeared on a single in February 1960 and then on the so-called Rocking Chair album in 1962, actually called Howlin' Wolf. The cover shows a rocking chair with a guitar leaning against it and there any similarity to Val Doonican ends. Peel-championed sixties group the Misunderstood used to do a searing version of this.
