Baltic (amber)

Today we sailed from Klaipeda, Lithuania to a little town called Liepaja in Latvia.  The trip was unexpectedly extended by 3 hours when we were directed by the Latvian coastguard to make a large detour round an artillery practice area - by the sounds of explosions we heard, it was wise to obey.  We are now tied up to a wall outside the lovely Hotel Promenade, that seems to be a converted industrial building.  We may be here a couple of days, as the forecast for tomorrow is for a gale, and there is already thunder and lightning.
(At least that will give me a chance to catch up with some back blips)
