High on a hill.....

Another beautiful day in this gorgeous part of the world and our last full day here, who ever wants to go home from their holidays??

We decided on visiting Pitlochry for lunch at our favourite tearoom then the local Gin & Whisky store who had promised a new delivery of a gin we tasted earlier in the week. Unfortunately the delivery had not arrived but their competitor just down the road had a plentiful supply, and they were more accommodating!

Today's walk was along the River Garry (correct spelling) towards Killiecrankie and the soldiers leap. The River is in a steep sided gorge and during the Jacobite Revolution it is believed that a soldier jumped the river to escape his enemy who were hot on his tail at a point which is still 5.5m wide!

No such excitement for us but we did spot a pretty wild flower growing beside the path, see extra. It's similar to an astilbe but not the same and not in our book of everything.

The walk departed the river and up into beautiful meadows reminding me of the Sound of Music. It then went past a house selling their own honey outside so we also now have a jar of heather honey.

Another fantastic walk on a beautiful day and neither of us want to bring the journey home tomorrow, even if it is going to take us to friends first.
