Urine Trouble

With the liberal way that men urinate in public in Maputo, I was surprised to see this warning. If caught taking a piss (mijar in verb form), a fine of 250 meticais could be slapped upon you. That’s about 4 dollars, and an expensive leak. Even more costly than in British train stations, and here all you would get is a patch of bare earth behind some open stinking refuse bins.
