A sad but fitting farewell

Send off

ninety carfuls
family and friends
fell in line
for one final ride
a fitting farewell
the smiling, laughing
life of every party
too quickly gone

For the Record,
This day came in overcast with the distinct smell of snow in the air. A very early funeral and a very long, sad day. The church service was personal and comforting, the outpouring of support for T's brother and family heartwarming and enormous. Large families on both sides, and scads of loving friends. She was only 52, planning an early retirement this coming year after 32 years at her job. It all changed so suddenly in a shocking seven weeks from diagnosis to her passing. A bright light for many, M will be sadly missed.

We are supposed to get a fast moving snowstorm tonight. We're ready, and now we'll see what it does to the plans of our travelers. For us, it will be an early night, we are exhausted.
