Ant-like

It was a hot, bright day in Munich. Our time for wandering the city was reduced by 50% courtesy of Easyjet, so just one day to see everything we wanted to see. Well, that's not possible really, but we saw enough to know that we would definitely like to come back and visit again, perhaps in rather cooler weather!

C, K and I went up the tower of the Neues Rathaus on Marienplatz - not Mr A's cup of tea. Great views! I was really struck by the people down below, and their shadows, looking like ants. I've added a couple of extras from our wanders - two chaps enjoying a beer sitting in the cool shallows of the Isar, and some people enjoying a natural water shute in the Englische Garten. It looked delightful.

We enjoyed the Englische Garten in our own way as well - a litre of beer and some Beer Garden food at the Beer Garden at the Chinese Pagoda. And lots of "oompah" music from a band up on the Pagoda.

Afterwards, Mr A and I cheated, taking an (electric) bike taxi back to the hotel to rest, while K and C had a rest in the shade and then walked back. Later on we met for a wander down to Gärtnerplatz, as recommended by Barrioboy, and had a light supper in an interesting restaurant serving tapas type food. By the time we walked back, the air had cooled considerably. Not so the hotel bedroom, of course. Another hot night!

22,000 steps in all. It would have been closer to 30000 if we had walked back, so I'm glad we didn't. It would make me stiff and footsore.
