A curly whirly

This year is definitely not a good year for butterflies in my little patch over the back.  I did a count this morning and saw plenty of these Meadow Browns and lots of Ringlets but no Marbled Whites, no Common Blues or Argus Browns, no Fritillaries and only one Small Skipper.

Still decamping into the second bedroom around first light and I was every so slightly tempted to dress and go out to catch the sunrise.
