Magic Garden jug

I love this cute little hand-painted jug that P presented me with when she got back yesterday. It is by a Welsh potter called Sally Rowles and has a blue hare painted on the other side.

Some of you may remember my friend June's Alternative Garden Party six years ago. It was a memorable occasion! Now in her eighties and with husband Laurie quite infirm, she needed help to lay some gravel round the house, so yesterday she invited some friends and family to come to a 'Spread'. The idea was that we would help to spread the gravel and June would provide a wonderful spread of eats afterwards as a thank-you. Once again it was a super sociable occasion proving that old adage that "Many hands make light work", with both parties feeling grateful for all the effort involved.

Extra   -   a collage of the 'spread'. The more observant amongst you may notice that all the hard grafting seems to carried out by the females, while the men just seem to be standing around. This is purely coincidental and not an accurate portrayal! The even more observant may recognise the two younger members of Clan MacFreuchie doing their bit.
